One killed in Narayanganj robbers’ ‘gunfight’

NARAYANGANJ:  A robber was killed during a gunfight between two rival groups in Rupganj Upazila of the district on Saturday (October 20), according to the claim of police.

The deceased, identified as Abul Hossen, 40, son of Sona Miah, hails from South Para area of Sonargaon Upazila of the district.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rupganj police station Moniruzzaman said: “The robbers had a dispute over looted goods, which turned into a gunfight. After hearing sounds of bullets, petrol police went to the spot, and found Abul lying bullet-injured at Golakandaile Tonglarchar area of the upazila.”

“The body was sent to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue. A shooter gun was recovered from the spot,” OC said.

“Abul has a number of cases filed on charges of robbery with various police stations of Narayanganj,” OC also added.
