DHAKA: President M Abdul Hamid urged everyone irrespective of religions and ethnic orientation to prevent anti-liberation evil forces in order to continue pace of progress in the country.
M Abdul Hamid said while hosting a reception for Hindu community on occasion of Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of Hindu community, at Bangabhaban on Friday (October 19).
“The anti-liberation forces have repeatedly tried to impede country’s democratic progress and development. But the country is marching forward,” the president said.
He said that Durga Puja is a religious festival as well as a social festival which helps strengthen the bridge of unity among all people. Therefore, this festival is universal.
Several members of parliament (MPs), foreign diplomats, political leaders, editors, journalist leaders, senior civil and military officers, Hindu community leaders and distinguished citizens joined the reception.
