NARSINGDI: Two suspected militants were killed in a joint-force operation 'Gordian Knot' conducted in a militant hideout in Shaikerchar area of Narsingdi Sadar upazila on Tuesday (October 16).

Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit chief Monirul Islam said it while announcing the end of the operation at 4:00pm. 

He said the operation was successful. Two people- a male and a female- were killed in shootout. Both of them were members of Neo-JMB. However their identities are yet to be ascertained. 

No explosive materials were found inside the house except a firearm. The deceased had connection with militants of Madhabdi upazila and the next drive will be conducted there, he added.

Earlier in the day, Law enforcers cordoned-off two houses in Madhabdi and sadar upazilas of Narsingdi, on suspicion that militants might be hiding there.
