CHITTAGONG: A Cox’s Bazar-bound flight of US-Bangla Airlines from Dhaka made emergency landing at Shah Amanat airport in Chattogram due to some technical glitch.
Narrowly avoiding major accident, the BS-141 flight crash landed around 1:15pm on Wednesday (Sep 26) with 153 passengers.
According to airport sources, the front wheel of the aircraft was destroyed during the landing.
US-Bangla director general (public relations) Md Kamrul Islam told Banglanews that the Boeing 737 aircraft made urgent landing at Chittagong airport after failing to land in Cox’s Bazar. However, two pilots, five crews and 152 passengers with 11 children are all safe.
Fire Service and Civil Defence deputy assistant director Md Jasimuddin told Banglanews that, on information about the landing, 6 vehicles of EPZ, port and Agrabad units were sent to the scene.
