MUNSHIGANJ: A suspected drug dealer was killed in a shootout with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) reportedly taken place in Munshiganj sadar upazila early Wednesday (Sept 26).

The deceased was identified as Abdul Malek, 45.

Besides, two law enforcers sustained injuries in the shootout held at Koshba area under Mirkadim municipality around 3:30am. 

A group of drug dealers opened fire at the RAB members while they were patrolling the area, inviting them to retaliate.

RAB-11 Company Commander ASP Mohitul Islam confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

The body was sent to Munshiganj sadar hospital.

A foreign pistol, three rounds of bullet, a magazine and 800 piece yaba were recovered from the spot.

The deceased was accused in 11 cases filed on drug dealing charges, added the ASP.
