DHAKA: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has summoned six officials of Farmers Bank Ltd including its former MD AKM Shamim for allegedly approving Tk 4 crore loans using fake documents and depositing the money into former chief Justice SK Sinha’s account.
The five other bank officials are – executive officer Umme Salma, assistant vice president and former credit in-charge Shafiuddin Ahmed, vice president and former manager (operation) Lutful huq, senior executive vice president and former head of business Gazi Salauddin and First vice president Swapan Kumar Roy.
ACC director and probe officer Syed Iqbal Hossain sent notice on Tuesday (Sep 25) asking them to appear in ACC office tomorrow.
ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattachariya confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
Earlier on April 25, ACC summoned two businessmen for allegedly taking Tk4 crore in loans from Farmers Bank Ltd using fake documents and depositing the money in the bank account of a VVIP. Sinha’s name was not mentioned in ACC notice.
