PANCHAGARH: Country’s northern most district Panchagarh has been waking up with its first fogs over nearly a week as the winter drawing near.  

Temperatures also started dipping to as low as 22.7 degrees Celsius. 

The district having close affinity to Himalayan basin in soil nature and bounded by Darjeeling on the north, is getting engulfed with dense fog for 3-4 hours in the mornings. 

“Winter is approaching Panchagarh, as the days progressing. Lowest temperature has been recorded 22.7-25 degrees Celcius in last seven days,” Tetulia meteorological office acting officer Rahidul Islam told Banglanews.  

"The winter may see double intensity this year here," said Roni Miazi, a local.

However, Panchagarh’s Tetulia upazila went under 2 and 6 degrees Celsius temperatures as lowest last year.
