DHAKA: Eminent short-story writer and novelist Hasan Azizul Huq was awarded with the Sahityaratna Award, in its very first year of commencement, introduced by IFIC Bank.

Besides, writers Khasru Chodhury and Shakoor Majid were awarded with IFIC Bank Sahitya Puraskar.

The three writers were handed over the prizes at the award-giving ceremony held at IFIC Tower in Dhaka’s Purana Paltan Saturday (September 22).

Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir and IFIC Bank Chairman Salman F Rahman handed over them the prizes. 
 
Hasan Azizul Huq has been honored with the award for his vast contribution to Bangla literature.

Khasru and Shakoor were given the awards for their books—‘Sundarban-e Bagher Pichu Pichu’ and ‘Feraun-er Gram’ books.
