NARSINGDI: Three people including two siblings were killed as boat capsized in Brahmaputra river in Belabo upazila of Narsingdi on Saturday noon (Sept 22).

The deceased were identified as Tamim and Samia, children of one Saiful Islam of Jangua village of the upazila and Nila Akhter, daughter of Badal Mia of the same village.

Belabo police station officer-in-charge (OC, investigation) Md Arifur Rahman told Banglanews that a boat carrying, 8 people, sunk in the river near Sarrabad area. Five of the passengers managed to swim ashore while three minor children drowned. Later locals rescued them and taken to Bhairab upazila health complex where duty-doctor pronounced them dead on arrival.
