DHAKA: A probe committee has been formed to look into breakage of the exit door of country’s first Boeing 787-8 ‘Dreamliner’ of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, says Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.
“What I have heard, this incident happened due to a press on the wrong button by a man namely, Mustafizur Rahman. Also, I heard that it is an emergency exit, not normal. It cannot be used at the second time once it is opened,” Md Mahibul Haque, secretary of the ministry told reporters at a press conference held at Secretariat on Wednesday (September 12).
“Details can be determined following investigation report,” Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal told reporters.
On Tuesday (September 11), a part of this special door broke as a flight was scheduled to fly from Dhaka to Singapore from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated ‘Dreamliner’, latest aircraft from US-based multinational Boeing Company, on Wednesday (Sep 5).
The premier named the aircraft ‘Akashbeena.’
