RAJSHAHI: Four people including a woman and her two kids were killed as a truck and microbus collided in Godagari upazila of Rajshahi on Sunday afternoon (July 22).

The deceased were identified as ICT state minister Palak’s niece Khadijadul Cobra Keya, 30, her daughter Raisa Khatun, 6 and son Ahsan Habib Ahanab, 5 and the microbus driver Palak, 35.

Keya’s husband and Chapai Nawabganj Department of Narcotics Control assistant director Alamgir Hossain and their domestic help were critically injured in the crash. 

Rajshahi Godagari police station officer-in-charge (OC) Jahangir Alam told Banglanews that the incident took place around 5:30pm as the truck and microbus collided head-on on Rajshahi-Chapai Nawabganj highway leaving Keya and her daughter dead on the spot. Keya’s son Ahanab and driver died later whiel undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH).

The bodies were handed over to family. Police seized the truck but the driver and helper fled the scene, he added.
