Uninterrupted power supply not possible now: Nasrul

DHAKA: State Minister for Power Nasrul Hamid Bipu said supplying uninterrupted power or making the country load-shedding free is not possible just now.

“People have to keep patience and wait a little longer for it,” he added.

The state minister was talking to reporters after exchanging Eid greetings in secretariat on Monday (June 18).

Bipu said the first thing needed for uninterrupted power supply is to transfer the electrical cable lines into underground and up gradation of the sub-stations. Both of these are time-consuming and expensive works. We need to ensure the finance first to do the works needed.

Mentioning that many people are suffering due to the load-shedding, he said, “People often call me directly for expressing their concern, agitation and query. I understand their woes. I tell them it’s not something we can fix over night but things will get better in future gradually.”
