BENAPOLE (JESSORE): The largest land port of the country in Benapole of Jessore district opened Monday morning (June 18) after three days of Eid vacation.

Export-import activities between Benapole and India’s Petrapole began around 10:00am. The port was closed from June 15 to June 17 due to Eid-ul-Fitr.

Meanwhile in the vacation, hundreds of cargo trucks are waiting on both sides of the port. Some of the cargos are organic raw materials that needs to be delivered at the destination quickly otherwise traders might face loss.

Export and import activities with India started around 10:00am. Some 50 goods-laden trucks entered Bangladesh from India and 35 trucks entered to India within one and half an hour of opening.
