4 Brahmanbaria men to die for killing businessman  Death-raw convict Ziaul Haque

BRAHMANBARIA: A district court gave death penalty to four persons for killing a businessman of Chawkbazar area of old parts of Dhaka city.

District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Safiul Azam of Brahmanbaria court handed down the verdict on Monday (January 6).

The death-raw convicts were-- Nuru Mia, Ziaul Haque, Lokman Khan and Qadir Hossain. Of them, only Ziaul was present at court while the rest are absconding.

According to the prosecution, the convicts murdered Abdul Hannan Bahar, 45, son of Abdul Latif, hailing from Amdarnagar village of Sonamuri upazila in Noakhali on august 6, 2014.

The deceased younger son Belal Hossen filed a case with Bancharampur Police Station on August 9. 

Jasim Uddin, a lawyer on behalf of defendant, told Banglanews: “I think the given is correct. I will appeal with the High Court.”
