Judicial probe into rawhide price fall sought Rawhide

DHAKA: A Supreme Court lawyer filed a writ petition with the High Court seeking judicial investigation into unprecedented price fall of rawhide.

Barrister Mohiuddin Md. Hanif (Farhad) filed the writ petition on Sunday (August 18).

Barrister Mohiuddin Md. Hanif (Farhad) said the writ petition was placed before two courts but they showed reluctance to hear it on Sunday (August 18), but I will place it before another bench on Monday (August 19).

Secretary of Commerce, Industry, Chairman of Bangladesh Tanners Association, President of Bangladesh Hide and Merchants Association were made respondents to the writ.

Unlike previous years, this year rawhide prices fell sharply.
