NARAYANGANJ: Two youths were sentenced to life in prison for killing BSC engineer Golam Sarowar Rajib in Araihazar  upazila of the district.

Judge Anisur Rahman of district and session’s judge’s court of Narayanganj delivered the verdict on Thursday (May 30).

The convicts were identified as Khairul Bashar, 28, son of Abu Bakkar, hailing from Godenail area under Siddirganj and Rubel Miah, 28, son Zakir Hossen, of Purinda village of Araihazar.

Public prosecutor of the court Wajed Ali Khokon confirmed the verdict to reporters.

Rajib was kidnapped on July 5 of 2016.

Rajib’s body was recovered from South Pennai area under Daudkandi upazila of Cumilla, in other words on Dhaka-Chattogram highway, on July 7 of 2016.

Golam Hossen Ratan, father of the deceased, said his son was murdered out of enmity and greed of his property.
