DHAKA:  A Dhaka court fixed July 14 for hearing on framing charges in the case filed against actress Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed under ICT Act in August of 2018.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Didar Hossain fixed this date on Tuesday (May 28).

Earlier on May 26, Investigation officer of the case and police inspector of Counter Terrorism and Trans-National Crime Shawkat Ali Sarkar submitted the charge-sheet against Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed.

A total of 20 persons were made witnesses in the case field Under 57 (2) section of Information and Communication Technology Act 2006 (Amendment).

On April 17, the same court in its order said lawyers instead of Nawshaba can appear before the court, in other words, Nawshaba does not have to come to the court from the next date onwards.

Earlier, the court granted permanent bail to her on January 15.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested her from the city’s Uttara area on August 4 of 2018.

She was placed on a 4-day remand after the arrest.

In a Facebook live, Nawshaba claimed that the attackers killed two students and gouged out the eyes of another at Jigatala intersection of the capital while students’ movement for safe roads was underway.

Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed is mostly famous for her role in Bangladesh’s first ever blockbuster cop thriller ‘Dhaka Attack.’
