No bar to make report on running cases: Minister Law Minister Anisul Huq briefs reporters

DHAKA: Law Minister Anisul Huq said there is no bar to make news on the running cases but it won't be allowed for the sub-judice cases, the proceedings of those are halted.

The minister was talking to reporters after holding a meeting with envoys of several countries and UN and UNDP at his office in the secretariat Sunday (May 19).

"I think the Supreme Court asked not to publish report or opinion about the sub-judice cases or the proceedings of trials are not running," he said.

"It doesn't seem to me that the court asked not to make report about the running cases. You can write," he added.

"I want to make the matter clear. Reports and opinions have to be separated and should be treated separately too," added Anisul Huq.

However, the minister suggested the reporters to seek clear observation from the Appellate Division in this regard.
