No bar to release of Khaleda Zia's adviser Salam

DHAKA: The High Court granted bail to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's adviser Abdus Salam in six cases filed on sabotage charges.

The HC bench of Justice Md Rezaul Haque and Justice Zafar Ahmed issued the order Sunday (May 12).

Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon and Barrister Sakib Mahbub moved for the bail plea, at the courtroom.

The cases were filed over sabotage before the 2018 national polls, with Paltan Police Station.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court ordered him to land in jail after he had surrendered on April 28, said Sakib Mahbub.

Now there is no bar to release Abdus Salam, he added.
