SATKHIRA: A court here on Thursday (Jan 10) sentenced a man to death for killing his wife over a family feud at Murarikathi village of Kolaroa upazila in 2012.

The convict was identified as Abdus Sabur Molla, 52, from Kumarnal village in Kolaroa upazila.

Satkhira District and Session Judge Court Judge Sadikul Islam Talukder passed the order. 

According to the case statement, the convict strangled his second wife, Romecha Khatun to death following a family feud on August 24 in 2012.

Immediately after the incident, locals caught Sabur and handed over to police.

Later, victim’s brother filed a case with Kolaroa Police Station in this connection.

After examining all the records and witnesses, the court handed down the verdict.

The lone accused Sabur was on the run and tried in absentia.
