SATKHIRA:  Police arrested a sheaf of paddy representing candidate for Satkhira-4 constituency Gazi Nazrul Islam and three others in a case filed for committing act of sabotage.

The four persons were caught from the Islampur area of Shyamnagar upazila on Sunday (December 16).

Gazi Nazrul Islam is a Jamaat-e-Islami leader. Sheaf of paddy is election symbol of BNP.

Speaking to Banglanews, Abul Kalam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shyamnagar police station said Gazi Nazrul Islam had been holding a meeting with other Jamaat leaders at his residence.

On secret information, he was arrested in a drive. The others, sensing police presence, fled the spot.
