Narendra Modi to likely take oath May 29

Narendra Modi who steered the BJP-led NDA to a stunning victory in 2019 elections will be sworn in as Prime Minister of India on May 29.

In the just-concluded Lok Sabha polls, PM Modi has led BJP to a massive victory for a second term in office.

The BJP scored absolute majority, bagging 272 of declared 458 seats till midnight on Thursday, and it was on course to touch the 300-seat mark in the 543-member Lok Sabha.

BJP workers went into the celebratory mode as soon as NDA crossed the majority mark in the 2019 Lok Sabha election.

BJP workers were seen dancing on dhol beats at the party headquarters in Delhi.

Sweets were also distributed by the BJP workers to passersby and motorists.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not officially confirmed the date of the swearing-in ceremony.

However, some reports suggest that the event may take place on May 28 or May 29. A report by Wion, quoting latest reports, said that the swearing-in ceremony may be organised on May 30.
