Bangladeshi jailed, fined in Malaysia for Immigration offences

Pekan Nanas Immigration Sessions Court in Malaysia delivered the verdict after Md Mohiuddin Mamun pleaded guilty to 16 charges under the Immigration Act.

Out of the 16 charges, 14 counts of charges were for unlawful possession of passports of others’ people, which did not belong to him, while the other two charges were for forging or amending travel documents and for violating his social visit pass.

Mamun was charged under Section 12 (1) (f) of the Passport Act 1966, and under Section 56 (1A) (a) of the Immigration Act 1959/63, according to Malaysian media reports published on Tuesday (September 18).
