West Indies invite Pakistan to bat

DHAKA:  West Indies have won the toss and opted to bowl first against Pakistan in the second match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 on Friday (May 31).

The high voltage match of two champions of the past  is scheduled to begin at 3:30pm at Trent Bridge.

Asif Ali who could be a game changer is not playing in the match.

West Indies won the first two editions named Prudential World cup at that time in 1975 and 1979 at Lords. They also finished runners up behind India in 1979.

After toss, Jason Holder said, “We're going to field first, I don't think the conditions will change first as the day goes on. Hopefully we get some early movement and wickets. Evin Lewis and Shannon Gabriel aren't fit, and we've left out Fabian Allen and Kemar Roach.”

Sarfaraz Ahmed said, “ We wanted to bowl first because of the overcast conditions and a bit of moisture. But it doesn't matter, it will be a good batting pitch. Our batting line-up is in form, it's good that before the World Cup our top batsmen are in form. Amir and Wahab are very experienced bowlers”.
