DHAKA: The Election Commission cleared all the nomination of seven mayoral candidates including Awami League’s Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh and BNP’s Ishraq Hossain, to contest the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) polls slated for January 30.

Their nominations were declared valid, Returning Officer (RO) Abul Kashem said after scrutinizing nomination papers of the aspirants at National Institute of Local Government on Thursday (Jan 02).

Other valid candidates are: Jatiya Party’s Saifuddin Ahmed Milon, Islami Andolon Bangladesh’s Abdur Rahman, National People’s Party’s Bahrane Sultan, Gonofront’s Abdus Samad, and Bangladesh Congress’ Md Aktar Uzzaman.
