Bimal Biswas quits Workers Party

DHAKA: Bimal Biswas, a member of the party's Politburo and former general secretary, has resigned from the Bangladesh Workers Party.

He on Tuesday (Oct 22) sent a resignation letter to the party.

Bimal Biswas told Banglanews about this, "I have sent a letter of resignation from the post of primary member of the party. Later I told party president Rashed Khan Menon about the matter on the phone.”

“I do not think anyone can party under the leadership who slipped into from Marxism, Leninism-based communist ideology. The Workers' Party has lost the right to this ideal. That's why I have left the party”, he added.

The Workers' Party Congress is set to be held on November 2. Prior to this Congress, ideological conflicts were created among the party high-ups. This is a reason for resignation of Bimal Biswas from his party.
