Anti-dengue drive instead of photo-session required Obaidul Quader and other Awami League leaders in the meeting

DHAKA: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader urged everyone to carry out proper cleanliness drives instead of 'photo-session' for preventing the dengue menace.

He categorically said aedes mosquito, the virus bearer of dengue fever, won't get selective when it bites:

"It won't consider whether you are a councillor, minister, MP or mayor," he said.

Obaidul Quader, also the minister for road transport and bridges, was speaking at an urgent meeting held at Awami League Central Office on Bangabandhu Avenue Tuesday (August 6).

He asked Awami League leaders and activists to sincerely and seriously carry out the three-day cleanliness drive countrywide, for the country's sake.

Mentioning that Dhaka ranked four among top dirty cities of the world, he instructed partymen and public representatives to destroy breeding places of aedes mosquito and keep each areas clean.
