Tarique asks BNP MPs to play strong role at JS

DHAKA: BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman on Monday (June 10) asked the MPs elected from his party to play strong role at the budget session of national parliament. 

He made the direction in a video conference through Skype from London.

Several senior leaders of BNP including its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir joined him at BNP chairperson's Gulshan political office, in the evening.   

"The acting chairman asked us to play strong role at the budget session of the parliament. Besides, the matter of releasing our party chairperson will be on," said BNP Joint Secretary General Harun-ur-Rashid.

"(Tarique) also asked all to keep talking about the overall political condition of the country," he added.

BNP Standing committee members Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar, Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and lawmakers Harun Or Rashid, Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan, Mosharraf Hossain, Aminul Islam, Jhaidur Rahman and Barrister Rumeen Farhana attended the meeting.

However, the six BNP MPs are set to join the 11th national parliament on the day of its budget session launching Tuesday (June 11).
