DHAKA: The Election Commission (EC) formed two tribunals to ensure justice to the candidates vied in the second, third and fourth phase upazila parishad elections.  

The Election Tribunal was formed of the Joint District Session Judge Court.

The other one—Appeal Tribunal was formed of the District Session Judge Court.

This year, the polls took place to 124, 127 and 122 upazilas in second, third and fourth phases. 

As per law, any complaint about any voting irregularities can be filed within 30 days within formation of the Election Tribunal. The tribunal disposes the plea within 90 days.

The aggrieved person can also file the appeal with the Appeal Tribunal within next 30 days if s/he doesn’t get content with the judgment from the first tribunal.

The Appeal Tribunal disposes the plea within 90 days. 

Plea seeking cancellation the voting also can be filed with the tribunal.
