DHAKA: Gano Forum president Dr Kamal Hossain demands discussion in parliament to restore order to public transportation sector.

Dr Kamal said, “The government could not stop long-held anarchy in the transport sector. This issue needs to be discussed in parliament. “

The party came up with the demand at a press conference held in city’s National Press Club on Saturday (March 23).

The conference discussed anarchy in public transport and safe road movement against insecurity of life.

Dr Kamal said, “No importance is given to transport strategy, law and ethics and there is no implementation of those in the public transportation sector.”

He attributed the fall of overall transport sector to faulty transportation, inefficient drivers, greedy owners, and irresponsibility of the government institutions to curb extortion in roads. As a result, there are frequent road accidents which are claiming countless casualties.”
