SUNAMGANJ: A local leader of Awami League (AL) was found dead beside a school at Islampur village in Sadar upazila on Tuesday (Mar 19) morning.

The deceased was identified as Joynal Abedin, 38, general secretary of Jahangirnagar Union unit AL and son of Moslem Uddin of the village.

Jahangirnagar Union Parishad chairman Moksed Ali told Banglanews that locals found the body of Joynal Abedin lying on ground besides the Dulaipar School in the morning. 

On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the body to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

However, three people have been detained in this connection, said Shahidullah, officer in charge of Sadar Police Station.
