NARSINGDI: BNP Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon was freed on bail on Monday (Feb 11) after spending nearly one and a half months locked up on charge of sabotage.

His wife Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal’s former secretary general Shirin Sultana confirmed the matter.

Khairul Kabir Khokon, also Narsingdi district unit BNP president, was released from Narsingdi district jail at noon.

He was sent to jail after he appeared before the court in a case on Nov 29.

He contested the Dec 30 national elections from Narsingdi-1 constituency, with ‘sheaf of paddy’ symbol.

BNP sources said Khokon was shown arrested in several cases filed under Special Power Act, over sabotage in Dhaka.
