DHAKA: Like Eid-ul-Fitr, the government has decided to hold the congregations for Eid-ul-Azha at the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram instead of the Eidgah maidan.
Md Anwar Hossain, public relations officer of Ministry of Religious Affairs, said the decision was made in a virtual meeting at the secretariat on Sunday (July 12).
Distinguished clerics and religious figures of the country joined the meeting chaired by Religious Affairs Secretary Md Nurul Islam.
He said Eid jamaats will be held at mosques instead of outdoor spaces due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Muslim devotees were urged to perform Eid prayers to their nearby mosques. Also everyone has to follow the health guidelines properly while performing Eid jamaat at mosques.
