CUMILLA: Three members of a family were killed in a road accident in Cumilla on Tuesday morning. 

The incident occurred when a private car plunged into a roadside ditch in Kazirkona area under Daudkandi upazila around 6:00am.

The deceased were identified as Sirajul Islam, 80, his wife, 70 and their grandson Abu Bakar Siddique, 12. 

Daudkandi police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam said confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

He said: “Sirajul Islam, along with his family members, was travelling to his village home in Chandpur’s Faridganj upazila from Dhaka by a private car. Their car plunged into a roadside ditch in Kazirkona area after its driver had lost control over the steering.”

All three of them died on the spot, the OC added.
