DHAKA: Ferry services on Shimulia-Kathalbari route resumed partially this morning after 36 hours of suspension as a Ro-Ro ferry got stuck in upstream of the channel.
Abdul Alim, manager (Commerce) of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) in Kathalbari Ghat confirmed that matter to Banglanews.
The ferry service on Shimulia-Kathalbari route was forced to close since 9pm on Tuesday after a Ro-Ro ferry ‘Bir Shrestha Jahangir’ got stuck in the upstream of the channel due to heavy water flow, he earlier said.
Due to the suspension of ferry movement on Shimulia-Kathalbari route, severe congestion of vehicles was created at Mawa ghat in Munshiganj.
