DHAKA: The average life expectancy of the people of Bangladesh has risen to 72.6 years in 2019 from 72.3 in 2018, according to the national statistical agency.
The Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) published the report titled "Monitoring the Situation of Vital Statistics of Bangladesh (MSVSB)" through an online programme on Tuesday morning.
AKM Ashraful Haque, who headed the team of surveyors, presented the report.
According to the report, male life expectancy increased slightly to 71.1 years from 70.8 in a year while female life expectancy rose to 74.2 years from 73.8.
Planning Minister MA Mannan joined the programme as the chief guest.
