Munshiganj microbus plunge kills 3 workers

MUNSHIGANJ: At least three people were killed and seven others injured as a microbus plunged into a roadside ditch at Gazaria of Munshiganj on Wednesday morning.

The diseased were identified as Rafi, 35, Alam Badsha, 25 and Imran,

Voberchar highway police outpost In-charge Nasiruddin Mazumdar told Banglanews that some workers of Cox's Bazar Matarbari Thermal Power Station were returning to Saghata area of Gaibandha by the microbus. 

When the microbus reached Pakhir Mor area of Gazaria upazila, the driver lost control over the steering and fell into a ditch, killing two workers on the spot, he said. 

Another worker later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment in Gazaria Upazila Health Complex, he also said.

Four of the seven injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) while the rest of the injured were released with first aid, Nasiruddin Mazumdar added.
