CTTC police inspector dies from Covid-19 

DHAKA: Another member of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) died of coronavirus at Central Police Hospital in the capital on Sunday morning (May 24).

The deceased was Razu Ahmed, an inspector of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of DMP.

Razu was admitted to the hospital on May 4, a day after he tested Covid-19 positive, said Sohel Rana, assistant inspector general (media) of Police Headquarters.

With the death of Raju, a total of 13 policemen in the country have died from coronavirus.

According to sources at Police Headquarters, the total number of coronavirus-infected police members was 3,574 until Saturday.

Among them, 1,277 are from DMP, the sources said.
