5 more die of coronavirus, 41 more infected in Bangladesh

DHAKA: Bangladesh has confirmed three more deaths from coronavirus disease in the last 24 hours climbing the death toll to 17, said the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control And Research (IEDCR) on Tuesday (April 7). 

Besides, 41 more people have tested positive, raising the total number of coronavirus cases in Bangladesh to 164, the IEDCR added.

Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora, the director of Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), disclosed the latest figure at a press briefing through online from their Dhaka office on Tuesday afternoon.

A total of 33 patients so far recovered as none was recovered within the last 48 hours.

Besides, the death toll from the coronavirus or COVID-19 has crossed 74,000 globally as of Tuesday afternoon.

Coronavirus has so far infected more than 13 lakh people around the world, according to worldometer.
