2 'robbers' killed in Feni ‘gunfight’

FENI: Two alleged robbers were killed in a reported gunfight with rivals at North Mangalkandi village in Sonagazi upazila of Feni early Friday (February 28).

The gunfight took place at around 2 pm.

The deceased could not be identified yet.

After being reported of firing, police reached the spot and found two bullet-hit bodies lying at Bismillah Brickfield area of North Mangalkandi village. They were sent to Sonagazi upazila Health Complex, but doctors declared them dead. Later, bodies were shifted to Feni District Sadar Hospital morgue for postmortem, Mainuddin Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Sonagazi Police Station, told Banglanews.

Two guns, one fresh bullet and eight bullet shells were recovered from the spot, police claimed.

Local Union Chairman Mosharraf Hossain Badal said: "I have heard of the incident, but I cannot say who were killed in the incident."

The chairman added that he was going to see the bodies at the hospital.
