3 killed in Moghbazar building fire

DHAKA: Three people, including a child, were killed and two others critically injured in a fire that broke out at a multi-story building at Dilu Road in city’s Moghbazar area early Friday.

One of the deceased was identified as Abdul Quader, 40, son of Mohammed Ullah from Laxmipur.

Babul, control operator of Fire Service and Civil Defense, also said the fire broke out at the garage, located on the ground floor of a five-story building around 4:30am.

On information, eight firefighting units went to the spot and extinguished the fire around 5:30am.

The cause of the fire could not be known immediately.

Md Bacchu Mia, inspector at DMCH police outpost told Banglanews the bodies were kept in the hospital morgue for autopsy.  

Two injured were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) burn unit, he added.
