Bangladesh won’t take responsibility over border deaths for cattle Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder at the function

DHAKA: Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder said government would not bear any responsibility if anyone got killed on frontier while bringing cattle illegally from India.

The Minister was addressing the Diamond Jubilee Celebration Ceremony- 2020 of Damkurahat High School held at its decorated premises under Paba Upazila in the district today as chief guest on Saturday (January 25).

Three Bangladeshi nationals were killed by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Duarpal border in Porsha upazila of Naogaon district on Jan 23, which is minister’s constituency.  

Regarding this killing, Sadhan Chandra Majumder said, "We will not open gateway for cattle. For this, resolutions of Upazila and District Law and Order Committee and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been made. Even after that, if someone gets shot dead while bringing cattle from India after cutting barbed fence, then the government will not take responsibility.”
