BSF kills Bangladeshi at Sherpur border Sherpur border point

SHERPUR:  A Bangladeshi youth was shot dead by Indian’s Border Security Force (BSF) at border point in Sreebardi Upazila of Sherpur on Monday (November 18). 

The incident happened inside Indian territory, which is close to Marangpara Bridge of Zero point at Piller no 1092.

The deceased was-- identified as Ukil Mia, 25, son of Bango Suruj Mia—a resident of Meghadol village under Singaborna union of the upazila.

Abdul Hai, in-charge of Karnojora Border Guards Bangladesh camp, told Banglanews: “A flag meeting will be held between BGB and BSF at noon.”

Dead body will be sent to district Sadar hospital for post-mortem, Mohammad Ruhul Amin Talukder, officer-in-charge of Sreebardi Police Station, told Banglanews. 

According to locals and BGB sources, Ukil Mia intruded into Indian side to fetch cattle, but he was shot in the chest at dawn..
