Abrar killing case charge-sheet accepted, 4 face arrest warrant Abrar Fahad

DHAKA: Dhaka court on Monday (Nov 18) accepted charge sheet filed against 25 accused in BUET student Abrar Fahad murder case.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Kaisarul Islam accepted it after hearing.

The court also issued arrest warrant against the rest of four accused –Morsheduzzaman Zisan, Ehteshamul Rabbi Tanim, Morshed Amatya Islam, and Mujtaba Rafid— are still on the run, while the 21 others are behind bars.

On Wednesday (Nov 13) Detective Branch (DB) of Police submitted a charge sheet against 25 accused in the murder case of BUET student Abrar Fahad.

Abrar Fahad, aged 21, a student of electrical and electronic engineering department at BUET(Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology), was tortured to death reportedly by BCL leaders of BUET unit at Sher-e-Bangla Hall of the university on October 7.

Abrar's father filed a murder case against 19 people with Chawkbazar police station on the day of the murder. 

On October 11, BUET authorities banned all political activities on the campus and suspended all the 19 accused of the murder case.

Police have already detained 20 persons in the case and several of them were remanded. Some of them gave confessional statements of their involvement with the murder.
