MUNSHIGANJ: A launch hit a sand-laden bulkhead in the Meghna River in Gazaria upazila of Munshiganj early Sunday (November 17). As a result, three workers went missing.   

Gazaria naval police sources managed to identify two of the missing workers-- Aslam, 26, and Emdad, 40.

“A Dhaka-bound launch ‘MV Kirtonkhola-2 hit the bulkhead at dawn. The launch could not spot the bulkhead because of dense fog. Four workers of the bulkhead fell into water—one managed to swim ashore while three others couldn’t. The launched rushed towards Sadargaht. The owner and master of the launch are in coastguard’s custody,” Abdus Samad, officer of Gazaria coastguard told Banglanews.
