GAZIPUR: A fire broke out at a cotton warehouse of a textile mill in Porabari area in Gazipur on Saturday (Nov 16) morning.

Locals and workers said the fire broke out at 6:30am.

Mamunur Rashid, deputy assistant director of Gazipur Fire Service, told Banglanews that three firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after one hour of frantic efforts.

The fire burned cotton, jhut (scrap fabrics from garment factories) and machines of the warehouse, he added.

The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
