THAKURGAON: A Bangladesh national was shot dead by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along Kandail border in Haripur upazila of Thakurgaon early on Monday (Oct 21).

The deceased was identified as Sreekanta Sing, 32, son of Kheloram Sing of Kalcha village in Haripur upazila.

Kheloram Sing said Sreekanta left home for India around 10pm on Sunday (Oct 20) to search a job.

Lieutenant Colonel SM Samunnabi Chowdhury, commander of Thakurgaon-50 BGB, said that a Bangladeshi was reportedly shot dead by BSF firing. 

A flag meeting at the commander level of BGB-BSF has been convened over the border killing.
