10 killed, 23 injured in countrywide road accidents One of the smashed vehicles

DHAKA: At least ten people including women and children were killed and twenty three others injured in countrywide road accidents on Saturday (Oct 19).  

In Habiganj, collision between two trucks claimed 2 lives at Mouchak area under Bahubal upazila which is located on Dhaka-Sylhet highway.

The victims were—truck driver Babu Mia, 32, and helper Rahmat Ali, 25—from Nakras Para area of Chapainawabganj, Md. Jasim Uddin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sayestaganj Highway Police Station, told Banglanews.

In Jhenaidah, three women were killed and nine others injured at Laudia area of the town.

The deceased could not be identified immediately after the incident.

Jhenaidah sadar police OC Main Uddin told Banglanews: “A truck hit a Mahendra in the morning, killing two women on the spot and injuring 10 others.”

In Sylhet, a face-to-face collision between two CNG auto-rickshaws killed two children and injured nine others at Charkhai Zeropoint in Beanibazar upazila.

Two children’s bodies—Inni, 12 and Tahmini, 15—-were kept at Sylhet M.A.G Osmani Medical College Hospital, Beanibazar police station OC Abani Shankar Kar told Banglanews.

In Barishal, a woman and her son were killed as a truck rammed into a Mahendra on Patuakhali-Barishal-Dhaka highway.

Two victims were—Delwara Begum, 60 and her son Shipon, 35.

In Dhaka, bus ran over a man while cycling in Moghbazar area of the capital, Sub Inspector of Ramna police station Biplov Kumar Biswas told Banglanews.

45-year-old Bhola Nath died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital after he was admitted to the hospital.

The bus was seized and the driver was also caught.
