DHAKA:  Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said she directed the law minister to quickly dispose of the BUET student Abrar Fahad murder case.

She informed family members of Abrar Fahad when they had met her at her official Ganabhaban residence on Monday afternoon (October 14).

Fahad’s family members include Abrar’s father Barkatullah, mother Rokeya Khatun and brother Abrar Faiyaz Sabbir, paternal uncle and maternal uncle.

After the meeting, PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed reporters.

“I have no language to express gratitude for the motherly role you played after the incident,” Abrar’s mother Rokeya Khatun said to the prime minister while expressing profound gratitude to her.

The premier embraced Rokeya Khatun and said: “Immediately after learning of the incident, I ordered to take action seeing CCTV footage. I didn't want to see who the guys were. I did not consider who the criminals were or what party they do.”  

Sheikh Hasina also said: “At that time some students tried to stall the video footage. I still do not understand why they did it. Otherwise, all the culprits would have been arrested earlier.”

Fahad’s parents expressed their gratitude to the premier.

Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader and others were present there.
