BUET demo relaxed for admission test

DHAKA: BUET students decided to relax their ongoing demonstration for two days considering admission test.   

Mahmudur Rahman Sayem, a 15th batch student, briefed media around 2:30 pm on Saturday (October 12).

The demonstration, resulted in the wake Abrar Fahad murder, is set to be relaxed on October 13 and 14 as students will flock the campus coming from all over the country. 

He also said: “Our 10-point demand will continue. As students will come to Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) from all over places of the country, we, therefore, will offer all kinds of cooperation. But, our next programs will be announced after considering situations of the two days. Our demonstration will go on.”

Abrar Fahad, aged 21, a student of electrical and electronic engineering department at BUET, was tortured to death reportedly by BCL leaders at Sher-e-Bangla Hall of the university on October 7.

He was found dead on the staircase of the dormitory early Monday.

The deceased’s father filed the case with Chawkbazar Police Station.
